MEDICAL WORKSHOP

For any Aspiring Pilot, a valid DGCA Class 1 and Class 2 Medical is a mandatory pre-requisite for the commercial operation of all flight crews and even for the student pilots undergoing Flight Training. The Medical Assessment is carried out in the DGCA Licensed Medical centers in all metro cities, mainly at all the major cities. Medical Workshop is a systematic process to provide guidance to aspiring Pilots to get their valid DGCA Medical Assessments.

Golden Epaulettes Aviation is an ISO Certified Pilot Training Academy. DGCA CLASS 1 & CLASS 2 MEDICAL WORKSHOP

Why?

  • All the Pilots must have an existing valid Medical Certificate in order to fly a Plane legally. This Certificate is obtained through medical examination. A medical examination is done only by the approved doctors of DGCA.

  • For any Aspiring Pilot, this is a mandatory pre-requisite for the commercial operation of all flight crew and even for the student pilot undergoing Flight Training.

Step 2

  • Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is the regulatory body in the field of Civil Aviation which has empanelled 20 Air Force Medical Centres and Civil Medical Centres and Class 1 and Class 2 Medical Examiners for the conduct of CLASS 1 and CLASS 2 Medical License Examination.

  • The Medical Assessment is carried out in the DGCA Licensed medical center in all metro cities, mainly at a prescribed major location.

    There are two Medical Categories:

    • DGCA CLASS 2 Medical

    • DGCA CLASS 1 Medical

Step 3

  • Class – 2 Medical: Class – 2 medical assessment is carried out DGCA approved doctors throughout the India. Post completion you will be handed a CA-35 assessment from as fitness certification & reports will be sent to the medical cell of DGCA for the issuance of class-2 medical assessment.

  • Steps to Apply for DGCA Class – 2 Medical:

    • Create an Account on eGCA portal and apply for DGCA Class 2 Medical. From the list, select the option “APPLY FOR MEDICAL CLASS 2”, Apply and fix an appointment.

    • For Class 2 medical examination, tests cost will be around 3500 INR.Tests will include: Blood, Urine, BMI (Body Mass Index), ECG, Blood pressure, Chest Xray, Eye test, Hearing test.The Applicant needs to upload these tests documents on the eGCA Portal and select the DGCA empaneled examiners for medical on the portal itself.

    • The applicant visits the DGCA empaneled examiner for a checkup. The doctor checks all your reports and he/she will receive CA 35 form as acknowledgment.

    • Once applicant’s medical documents reach DGCA, a file will be prepared and he/she will receive a file number. Applicant will be getting DGCA Class 2 Medical Assessment from DGCA through email and the same will also be available on eGCA portal.

    • Class 2 medical Assessment validity is 2 years.

Step 4

  • Class-1 Initial medical:  DGCA Class-1 Medical Initial Assessment can only be requested post receiving Class 2 Assessment from DGCA.

  • Steps to Apply for DGCA Class -1 Initial Medical:

    • DGCA Class 1 Initial medical is done when a person possess a valid Class 2 medical assessment applies for the first time for a Class 1 Medical. Aircrew should be 17 years and above for undergoing Class 1 Medical Examination.

    • List of DGCA Class-1 Medical centers:

  • The cost for Class-1 Medical examination will be around 4000-5000 at IAF Centers and 10,000-15,000 at other centers depending on the tests done. Applicant needs to carry:

    • Copy of the last medical assessment and CA-35.

    • Two passport size photographs and photo ID.

    • If using spectacles, carry spectacles and a copy of prescription of spectacles.

    • NOC for delayed/ early/ special medical issued by DGCA, if required.

    • Any specialist opinion/ report/ certificate/ opinion that was asked for in the previous medical examination(S).

  • The applicant visits the center for medical examination and after the checkup, he/she will receive CA 35 form as acknowledgment. Once, their medical documents reaches DGCA, he/she will receive Class-1 Medical Assessment through email and the same will be available on eGCA portal as well.

  • Validity for DGCA Class – 1 medical assessment is 1 year.

Note

  • All investigation reports need to be in original from NABH certified hospital/NABL certified laboratory or DGCA Empanelled Class 1 Air force Medical Centres only and signed by concerned specialist.

Step 5

NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (NOC)

  • NOC is required for Re- initial/ delayed/ early/ post TU/ Special medicals only from medical date at eGCA Website. The NOC form is available in eGCA Portal to be filled completely. Applications for NOC are to be done after obtaining a confirmed appointment and to be sent along with the last valid Medical Assessment issues by DGCA.

  • Steps to apply for DGCA NOC :

    • By clicking on ‘Request for Medical NOC’ service, applicant shall be able to apply for NOC, approval of which shall enable applying for medical and take take the examination as per approved NOC. Applicant visits DGCA portal, clicks ‘eGCA Login’ on top right, provides eGCA ID and password and clicks ‘Log In’.
